Last weeks comments: very hard day for punters with two 50/1 shots getting up. Very hard to pick horses on form at those odds. We'll leave them for the stargazers and flukers although we did select a 40/1 winner at last years Oakes Day in Melbourne - It's Prince - good run last week in Melbourne would pay to follow over 1200-1400, when it draws a barrier.
Three wins on top last week and two more in the mix out of eight races. Unfortunately missed out on the quaddie. Looking forward to the 10,000 meeting and the Stradbroke when all the good horses and good jockeys arrive.
RACE 1: 4, 13, 3, 6. Hard race - multiples.
RACE 2: 1, 2, 10, 11. Top weight to win and keep winning.
RACE 3: 4, 6, 2, 10. Firebolt now trained by Waller, last start ideal, ready to win.
RACE 4: 3, 4, 7, 15. Wealth Princess trained by Darren Weir, doesn't bring them here of nothing, money jock to ride.
RACE 5: 5, 6, 4, 9. Good win last two starts but drawn badly - multiples.
RACE 6: 6, 9, 5, 15. Will be tipping Mental for the Stradbroke so would have to win here.
RACE 7: 1, 11, 10, 13. Moody thinks Manighar will beat Lights of Heaven so that is good enough for me.
RACE 8: 1, 2, 4, 11. Top two should quinella this race on form.
QUADDIE
5, 6, 4, 9 / 6 / 1, 11, 10 / 1, 2, 4, 11.
Cost $1 = $48.00, 50% = $24.00
COMMENTS: keep an eye on the Kiwi invaders again. Stick with top trainers and top jockeys and good barriers. That is the key to carnival punting.
Remember the Golden Rule:
GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY: Do not bet what you cannot afford to lose and you will never have a problem. Works for me now!
